Instant Play
The Instant Play window allows you to create many pages, each of them may contain over 100 titles. These titles may be released just by pressing a botton.
Radio stations automation
Hardata hdxRadio is specially designed for radio stations automation from its two play out windows separation, Air1 for commercials and Air2 for music, providing 5 automatic operation modes:
-
Commercials + Music: hdxRadio plays back the scheduled music on Air2 when it is time for the commercial schedule to be aired, it waits till the on-air song finishes and at that moment it turns to Air1 and the commercials playback starts.
-
Timed commercials + Fade music: hdxRadio plays back the scheduled music on Air2 and when it is time for commercials, it fades on the song being aired and at this very moment it turns to Air1 and timed commercials scheduled for a specific time start being played back.
-
Timed commercials + auxiliary input show: hdxRadio allows the current show passage into the audio card auxiliary input and when it is time for scheduled commercials, it fades on the auxiliary input, changing to Air1 and timed commercials playback starts.
-
Satellite mode, GPI controlled commercials + Auxiliary input show: hdxRadio allows the current show passage into the audio card auxiliary input and when a GPI change is recognized, it fades on the auxiliary input, at that moment changes to Air1 and commercials playback starts. hdxRadio waits for a GPI change to return to the current show in the auxiliary input. If the commercials playout ends and the reconnection command is not yet passed on, hdxRadio fills the gap with Air2 music programming.
-
Satellite mode, SNC controlled Commercials + Auxiliary input show: hdxRadio allows the current show passage into the audio card auxiliary input and when it recognizes an SNC command (Satellite Network Control) indicating that regional playout has to start, it fades on the auxiliary input, changing at that time to Air1 and the commercials playback starts. hdxRadio waits for a new SNC reconnection command to return to the current show in the auxiliary input. If the commercials playout ends and the reconnection command is not yet passed on, hdxRadio fills the gap with AIR2 music programming.
Advanced operation and air content playout tools
-
Play and cue buttons: hdxRadio has two playback buttons, Play and Cue, which may be assigned to different audio devices.
-
Quick recording: a single button allows quick recording of the current signal present in the audio card input. This feature is very useful for mobile units, interviews, and journalists recording.
-
Voice over: When pushing this button, there is a scheduled fade on the audio being played out, so that the announcer may record his voice over the audio. By pushing the button again, hdxRadio restores audio to its original level. Fade and schedule settings may be configurated.
-
Play over: This InstantPlay window button allows playing out an effect or art over the audio being played out. hdxRadio previously fades the current audio, then it plays out the effect and when it is over, it restores the audio to its original level. Fade and schedule settings may be configurated.
-
Fade out: A fade out is performed over the audio and it ends it.
-
Crossfade: A crossfade between the current and the following audio is performed.
-
Songs markers and commercials: hdxRadio supports marker and commercial insertions over the songs. hdxRadio automatically inserts the marker over the song intro, performing the necessary fade prior to the marker playout, and restoring the original audio when it is over.
Automatic music formats
Hardata hdxRadio may create music formats. They are created from a category sequence order. During the format execution, hdxRadio picks up material at random from the corresponding category, allowing the musical programming automation from the production of formats and assigning them to different days and schedules of the station.
Time, temperature and humidity playout
Updated time, temperature and humidity data are always visible on the main board. These data can be updated manually or automatically by connecting a Davis Weather Monitor.
Hardata hdxRadio allows audio files recording needed for time, temperature and humidity playout. They can be played out manually or automatically by adding a command.
RDS encoders control
Hardata hdxRadio features RDS (Radio Data System) encoders control that besides transmitting audio it also transmits data in encoded signals that are decoded by any automobile stereo compatible with this system.
This new development provides the chance to display data related to the song that is being aired by a radio station, like the song title, ranking position, artist information or even advertising in the automobile radio screen.
Satellite and Internet networks
Hardata hdxRadio collects Hardata’s considerable experience in the satellite network market, where it has always been a pioneer. It allows reception of commands setting the beginning and the end of commercial breaks, remote recording of content played out by the audio channel, programming dispatch to remote stations and synchronism of time in the whole network, considering the different time zones.
It supports the use of data channel to distribute audio material to the different remote stations. These files are digitally distributed, thus keeping its original quality and associated values.
Hardata hdxRadio generates automatic fillers with local audio allowing duration differences fill up between national and regional commercials. Besides, it automatically detects satellite interruptions, shifting in those cases to local programming, and restoring itself once the satellite channel resumes its normal status. All transitions when connecting and disconnecting to satellite programming are performed with cross fades.
Telephone Call Recording
Hardata hdxRadio provides an automatic telephone call recording module, which recognizes the Caller-ID and registers the communication from the beginning to the end.
Note: The telephone module only works with telephony board that fulfill norm TAPI. The voice-modem which are not compatible with TAPI norm is not considered a telephony board valid for this application.
Content distribution
Hardata hdxRadio is designed for multimedia content distribution, either through TCP/IP connections in a VPN or through a video, audio or data satellite channel.
It can also send programming to remote stations, collect audit data and transfer it to the central head server. Hence, the whole network material-ingest, its distribution, programming, play-out and verification can be managed from the Head.
